It seems counter intuitive but simplicity is often the hardest style to capture. Rich Whiteman approached me to design his livery for his 2021 Formula D season. Simplicity was the aim as well as making all the sponsors happy. A logo was the starting point which would later be used with apparel, hero cards, and digital media. Many sponsors have very strict requirements for placement of their logos, but we were very lucky that all were taken with the render of the monochromatic look of the livery and agreed to have their colorways changed. All except one sponsor who joined the program late and forced a change of the final version. This sponsor was located in Japan presenting slight difficulty in communication due to the time difference and impending deadline. The result was a favorite of not only the fans but other competitors.
